The organizing committee of the IEEE ICIP 2025 invites outstanding proposals for exceptional Satellite Workshops on emerging topics in image and video processing. Only exceptional and high-quality Satellite Workshops will be accepted into the program. The aims of the Satellite Workshops are to enhance the conference program quality, expand the scope of IEEE ICIP, attract a diverse audience, and promote inclusivity among students, practitioners, and academicians. The IEEE ICIP 2025 Satellite Workshops will be either a half-day or a full-day event.

The Satellite Workshops’ main emphasis will be on emerging topics not specifically covered in the main conference and/or enable thematic synergies between the IEEE Signal Processing and other related societies. The workshops may include a mix of regular papers, invited presentations, keynotes, and panels, encouraging the participation of attendees in active discussions. Finally, the workshop papers can be submitted to IEEE ICIP Satellite Workshop Proceedings and submitted to Xplore for publication if they meet IEEE peer review standards.

Your workshop can be branded with your organization’s name, allowing it to reach a wider audience (ICIP brings together more than 1,000 attendees) and potentially attract new members to your community.

Required Satellite Workshop Proposal Information

Each proposal for the Satellite Workshops must include the following information:

• Title: A short descriptive title of the proposed workshop.
• Duration: Half day (three hours) or Full day (six hours).
• Organizers: Names, affiliations, contact information such as emails, and short bios of each organizer.
• Description (fewer than 300 words): Discuss the motivation, impact, and main directions of the workshop.
  • Include explicit statements as to why the subject(s) covered warrant a dedicated workshop outside the main conference, how this would complement the main conference and its relevance to it, how it could generate new momentum in the field, and aspects of novelty (emerging fields), interdisciplinarity, and synergies with other societies.
  • Describe the planned composition of the proposed workshop: What mix of regular papers, invited presentations, keynotes, and panels (having all is not required) is envisaged with any specific tentative information on specific contributors, if known? In addition, details should be provided if any competitions/challenges are planned.
  • Explain what measures will be taken to ensure diversity and address any ethical issues (e.g., shared data).
• Attendees: Expected number of attendees and their background.
• Publication to be included in IEEE Xplore Digital Library: Yes / No.
• Experience: Details of organizers’ experience in organizing related events.
• Remarks: Any other relevant information.

Evaluation Criteria

The proposals will be judged based on their thematic relevance to IEEE ICIP 2025, focus and novelty, the potential interest and excitement they may generate, the credentials of their organizer(s), and the proposal completeness regarding the provided information.

Satellite Workshop Logistics

The organizers of IEEE ICIP 2025 Satellite Workshops will be responsible for the workshop scientific planning and promotion, running of the paper reviewing process, undertaking all communications with the submitted paper authors, creating and announcing the event schedule, abiding by the Important Dates listed on the website, and seamlessly communicating with the IEEE ICIP 2025 Satellite Workshop Chairs.

The costs for the room rental and standard audio-visual equipment are waived for workshop organizers, and the conference organizing committee will assist with onsite logistics.
